Oberon & Villages Summer Festival

Oberon & Villages Summer Festival is an initiative of the Oberon Events Committee, a committee of Oberon Council.

For years Oberon and Villages celebrated many different events and shows in a reasonably fragmented way and so a decision was made to draw all these events together to celebrate the rich diversity this district offered under the name of “Oberon & Villages Summer Festival”. Each event or show is presented by an independent committee or community group but in a co-ordinated way that really showcases a slice of country living in this district.

In 2011 the Oberon & Villages Summer Festival embraces an extraordinarily diverse range of events spread over four months from February. Every event is worth a visit to Oberon alone.

The Highlands Steam & Vintage Fair was part of the inaugural Oberon & Villages Summer Festival in 2009.

The lifestyle and treasures of village life are often not apparent to visitors and need a local to help you discover them.

The Summer Festival is a chance for visitors to rediscover these simple pleasures, sharing the lifestyle, history, culture, secrets, produce, stories and hospitality of the Oberon Circle of Villages on The Tablelands Way experience.

Summer in the high country is the season of bounty. Fruits are in season, trout are in the streams, mushrooms in the forests, mountain bike trails await and adventure is in the air. Village life brings its own flavour to summer, the pleasures of the home made and home grown.

The Oberon & Villages Summer Festival is promoted under the banner of Oberon & Villages Simple Pleasures. This promotion is supported by the Oberon Plateau Tourism Association, Oberon Business Association, Oberon Council, Blue Mountains Lithgow and Oberon Tourism and Tourism New South Wales.
