Farmers & Craft Market Precinct to be a Hit

By david - Posted on 19 November 2009

The Farmers & Craft Markets precinct at the Highlands Steam & Vintage Fair is sure to be a hit.

Farmers & Craft people  are accepting our invitation to establish a stall at the Fair  during its three day duration.

Indications are that there will be an international feast to be had as well as lovely handmade country crafts to admire and purchase.

If you are a primary producer or a cottage crafts person and would like to participate in the markets, talk to the rally organiser about a site application.

This is a better quality market and therefore, no bric a brac, imported or mass produced goods will be on sale.

If you want good food, country produce or discover a wonderful piece of country craft made by artisans, then this will be the place for you.

Clubmembers Can Display As A Group

By david - Posted on 15 November 2009

Members of Clubs can display their machinery as a group at the Highlands Steam & Vintage Fair 2010.

You may display club parapheranlia, club banners and erect a club shelter tent. In fact clubs are encouraged to make their groups as colourful as possible.

The only request the management team of the Highlands Steam & Vintage Fair has is that you don't erect any displays or structures that could be a danger to others.

Club Secretaries or Event Directors can simply contact the Rally Organiser and advise how many machines will be in your group and we'll allocate sufficient space to keep you together.

Tarana Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade Supports the Fair

By david - Posted on 09 November 2009

Tarana Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade is another local association pleased to be associated with the Highlands Steam & Vintage Fair.

The Highlands Steam & Vintage Fair  Road Run will again take entrants through spectacular countryside stopping off at the Bush Fire Brigade Shed to enjoy a lovely country lunch hosted by the volunteers of the Brigade.

This event is scheduled for Friday 19th February 2010 from 11.30 AM.

Tarana Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade's aim is to detect and extinguish bush fires as early as possible. It also has another important function; that of hosting events that enables the Brigade to raise needed funds.
Some of the events are Christmas in July, Local Produce Dinners, Christmas celebrations and of course the country lunch that our entrants will enjoy.

The volunteers will dispense plenty of friendly chat as they serve the delicious meal. Another volunteer, Tony Marsh of Winooka Park Vineyard in Gemalla is providing wine from his vineyard at the lunch to showcase yet another rural pursuit in the area.
Talk to Tony about a purchase or two if you wish.

Yet another opportunity to talk to a local and experience Oberon and Villages' country charm.

"The brigade is pleased to be associated with the Fair and through it with the Oberon & Villages Summer Festival" a spokewoman said.

Apart from a minor adminstrative expense, total proceeds of the lunch will be used by the Brigade to provide further equipment for the Shed.
